Voice4u – AAC App for Autism, Stroke Victims, ALS on iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, and Android

Voice4u lets you add customized icons to match your needs. You can create icons with single words, sentences or phrases. This short video demonstrates on the iPad.


iPad

1. First, tap the “Add” tab at the bottom of the screen. Select an image for your icon. If you are using Voice4u on an iPad 2 or the new iPad (iPad 3), you may take a photo with the built-in camera. You may also pick up one out of your photo album or Google Image Search.


2. Tap the arrow button or slide the screen by swiping.


3. Next, record audio to go with the image. Tap the “Record” button on the left side, and speak. tap “Done” to stop recording. You can play the recorded voice by tapping the “Play” button on the right.


4. Slide the screen again. Please type words, phrases, or sentences to go with your icon. The keyboard will pop up by tapping the white box. Then, choose a category. Tap the “Confirm” button to preview your new icon.


5. Finally, confirm your icon. You can hear the voice by tapping the image. If you are happy with it, Tap “Done” to finalize. Then, ”Item saved!” will appear on the screen.

Tip: tap the little star to save it in your favorites.


6. Let’s check your new icon. For this example, you may follow: Category > Food > Grilled cheese.
