*This feature requires iOS 10 or later. When the automatic language detection options is ON, the app tries to select a voice in your gender preference.
Here is how it works:
Selecting a voice manually
Navigate: “Settings” > “Languages“. Then tap on a language that you want to use.
You also need to slide OFF the “Language Detection” switch. Otherwise, the app will override your selection.
Let the app select a voice (Automatic)
Open the Setting screen, and slide ON the “Language Detection” switch. Then select your gender preference in “Gender of Voice“.
If you see any glitch of the app, OR if you have any suggestions / feature requests, feel free to contact us anytime.
How do I have the app speak from the specific sentence/word? I don't want to listen to the whole text every time I tap the Speak button.
2. Tap the word that you want to listen. In this example, we tapped the left of “And” so that we can listen to the second sentence. You should see a cursor (vertical blue line) at where you tapped.
Then, tap the Speak button (green). The app starts speaking from “And here is …” instead of the beginning of the sentence.
3. If you want to change where to start listening to (while the app is still speaking), pause the audio by tapping the Speak button. Notice that the color of the button turns to black. Then, press and hold the Speak button for a few seconds. The Speak button turns back to green. Then, repeat the above step (2).
